Making Energy Understandable for Everyone. Design That Makes It Possible.

enox.energy is Salzburg AG’s digital energy platform for households and energy communities. Bright Global shaped the digital platform from the ground up – UX/UI design, design system, and frontend.

What Bright Global Delivered for enox.energy

From digital brand identity to accessible implementation.

    Complex Topics Need Clear Design.

Whether energy, finance, health, or infrastructure – when your product needs to make a complex topic accessible to a broad audience, design is not decoration. It is the tool that enables understanding. We design digital experiences that do exactly that.

    Digital Branding & Visual Identity

Development of a fresh, modern, and trustworthy digital brand language for enox.energy – expressing innovation and accessibility while clearly differentiating from the parent brand Salzburg AG.

  • UX/UI Design

Design of an intuitive, user-friendly interface – optimised for all devices and built to make complex energy topics comprehensible for a broad audience.

  • Modular Design System & Frontend Implementation

Development of a reusable component system and technical implementation of the frontend in Storyblok – so the business team can create new pages and content independently, without developer involvement.

  • Accessibility (WCAG)

Implementation of accessibility standards to WCAG – the website is accessible to all user groups and meets growing EU requirements for digital accessibility.

    About Salzburg AG and enox.energy

Salzburg AG is one of Austria’s leading infrastructure and energy providers – active across energy, mobility, telecommunications, and digital services.

enox.energy is the company’s digital platform, designed to make energy more transparent, understandable, and controllable in everyday life. The platform encompasses three products:

    • enox.share for managing energy communities

    • enox.live for energy transparency

    • enox.powerhive for intelligent battery optimisation.

The overarching goal: to turn energy from an abstract supply variable into a comprehensible, actionable everyday topic.

    The Project in Three Chapters

A new brand, a complex topic, a clear design brief.

    The Challenge: Making Energy Visible

Energy is abstract. It flows through cables, appears as a number on a bill, and only becomes a topic when something goes wrong or costs rise. Salzburg AG wanted to change that with enox.energy – and needed a digital brand and website that makes energy tangible, understandable, and actionable. The challenge was a design one: how do you present an invisible infrastructure topic so that it feels relevant and inviting for households, energy communities, and technically engaged users alike? And how do you clearly differentiate a new digital brand from a large, established parent brand?

    The Approach: Clarity Through Design

Bright Global developed an independent UX/UI design for enox.energy – with a fresh, modern visual language that expresses innovation and accessibility. The UX/UI design presents the platform’s three products clearly and audience-appropriately, without overwhelming users with technical complexity. A modular design system of reusable components forms the foundation: it enables the Salzburg AG business team to develop the website independently, without requiring a developer for every new piece of content. Accessibility to WCAG was part of the design process from the start – not a retrospective check.

The Result: A Platform That Keeps Its Promise

enox.energy is a website that delivers what the brand promises: making energy understandable. The three products are clearly structured and accessible for different audiences – from private households wanting to better understand their consumption, to organisations managing energy communities. The modular design system gives the Salzburg AG team the tools to maintain and evolve the website independently. The accessible implementation ensures no one is excluded. And the branding positions enox.energy as an independent, modern digital brand – clearly recognisable as a Salzburg AG product, but with its own identity.

    Why Storyblok

And Why It Was Already the Right Choice Before We Started

One of the reasons this project came together so smoothly was a happy coincidence: Storyblok was already in use within Salzburg AG's technology landscape when the enox.energy project began. That meant no platform evaluation process, no migration risk, and no learning curve for the team – just a partner who knew the platform inside out arriving to work with a client who had already committed to it.

Storyblok's visual editor is one of its most distinctive strengths for projects like this. Non-technical editors can build and modify pages directly in a live preview, without needing to understand component structures or content models. For a business team managing a consumer-facing energy platform – where new product features, seasonal campaigns, and updated messaging need to go live quickly – that editorial independence is not a nice-to-have. It is essential.

The modular design system Bright Global built translates directly into Storyblok components, meaning every new block is immediately available to editors the moment it is deployed. Klaus Unterkircher of Bright Global is a Storyblok MVP Builder – our team's expertise with the platform goes deep.
