The Platform in Numbers
From the Storyblok dashboard of the BBDS platform.
5
websites on a single shared Storyblok platform – each with its own brand identity, collectively managed by an editorial team of a few users.
100+
marketing blocks (Storyblok components) developed and maintained – the editorial building-block system behind all five websites.
800
stories (content entries) in the platform – from seasonal pages and excursion tips to news and events.
4,000
assets (images and media) managed in Storyblok – across all five brands and seasons.
What Bright IT Delivered for BBDS
From platform architecture to ongoing operations.
Shared Content Hub Architecture
Design and implementation of a Storyblok architecture using a single CMS instance as the foundation for five independent brand websites – with shared content and brand-specific presentation.
100+ Marketing Blocks
Development of 100+ reusable Storyblok components – the editorial building-block system that keeps all five websites running and enables new pages without developer involvement.
Multi-Language & Localisation
Multi-language architecture for an international tourism audience – content can be managed and published language-specifically without altering the structure of the platform.
Third-Party Integrations
Integration of tourism-specific data sources: weather data, lift status, webcam feeds – live and automatically updated so visitors always see current information.
Seasonal Scaling
The infrastructure is designed for extreme seasonality: ski and hiking seasons bring visitor spikes that the platform absorbs without manual intervention or surprises.
Cloud Hosting & Continuous Operations
Operation, monitoring, and ongoing development of the entire platform by Bright IT – including proactive platform care and fast response times when needed.
The Project in Three Chapters
Why a shared content hub for multiple brands was the right architecture decision.

The Challenge: Five Brands, Five Websites, One Small Team
Bergbahnen Dachstein Salzkammergut operates five separate mountain regions, each communicating under its own brand: BBDS as the group, Dachstein, Dachstein Salzkammergut, Feuerkogel, and Grünberg. Each region has its own events, seasonal schedules, prices, and target audiences. The marketing team managing all of this is small. The old solution – separate systems for individual websites – was editorially inefficient and technically maintenance-heavy. What was needed was a foundation that carries all five brands without multiplying the editorial effort by five.
Why Storyblok
And Why a Shared Hub Was the Right Decision
Storyblok is particularly well-suited for multi-brand scenarios – because it cleanly separates content from presentation and the content model can be kept consistent across multiple spaces and websites.
For BBDS this meant: a single editorial team can manage all five brand websites from one interface, without logging into a separate system for each brand. Storyblok’s visual editor makes it straightforward for non-technical editors to build and publish pages. The investment in 100+ marketing blocks amortises across all five websites – every new block is immediately available to all brands.
